CURE for Addiction meetings are held weekly at Calvary Chapel of Kennebec Valley applying biblical truth to the root of drug and alcohol addiction. Meetings are Tuesdays from 7:00 to 8:00 pm, at 165 Skowhegan Rd (Rt 201), Fairfield, Maine with a potluck on the first Tuesday of the month. April 19 – Safety and Survival Training for Commercial Fishermen, Thursday, April 19, 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Vinalhaven Fishermen’s 11 W Main Street, Vinalhaven, ME Hands-on training offered at no cost to commercial fishermen by Fishing Partnership Support Services. Trainers are Coast Guard-certified marine safety instructors. Includes on-board firefighting, man overboard recovery, rescue helicopter hoist procedures, flooding and pump operations, proper use of survival suits, life rafts and accompanying equipment. April 20 – Drill Conductor Training for Commercial Fishermen, Friday, April 20, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Vinalhaven Town Hall, 19 Washington School Road, Vinalhaven, ME. One-day course meets latest drill conductor certification requirements for commercial fishermen. Offered at no cost by Fishing Partnership Support Services. Conducted by Coast Guard-certified marine safety instructors. Participants must have attended safety/survival training within past 12 months; upon successful completion, they will be certified to conduct emergency drills. April 21 – Holy Grounds Coffee House e end this month with two great artists. We welcome back David Anderson of RedGoneWhite. David will be opening up the night for Sydney Guerrette. Sydney opened for us several months back at Holy Grounds. We were blown away by her voice and musicality. You are in for a real treat. Get there early. Last month was standing room only but even standing is worth it. Music starts at 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. No cover charge, donations to the musicians are much appreciated. Plan on purchasing your supper, beverages and desserts right here. Our chefs always deliver!

VICTORY THROUGH THE STEPS is a new recovery program that will meet in the First Baptist Church gym each Friday from 7-8:30 p.m. These will be God centered meetings based on the book, The Twelve Steps for Christians a book based on biblical teachings, the ‘12-steps’ and Christ’s love to all hurting people through recovery.
